Mettle: A Closer Look

What began as an experiment evolved into a short film looking at the expressions, details, and instances during a cross country running race. Filmed during the 2021 NCAA DIII Niagara Region Championships in Geneseo, NY, Mettle takes a hyper lapse/stop motion approach to filmmaking. Made entirely from photos, the higher shutter speeds capture much more detail and highlight moments during the race that reflect the internal struggle endured by the runners.
